Plas Llangoedmor B&B

Plas Llangoedmor stands on rising ground about one mile from the old county town of Cardigan with wide views over the broad tidal Teifi. The grey square tower of St Mary’s, the tall trees of Castle Green and the scattered houses of St Dogmaels on the Pembrokeshire hillside make an admirable background to the landscape….(The South Wales Squires, H.M Vaughan 1926)

Today the house still retains panoramic views towards the Preseli Hills  over the Teifi Valley down to Cardigan which starts to twinkle in the fading evening light. Plas Llangoedmor has 30 acres of fields and gardens set in a woodland backdrop, peaceful and rural yet so convenient for all the facilities of town. Inside the House you can marvel at the ornate ceilings, antiques and fine art while enjoying a drink or reading a book curled up in front of a roaring open fire.

The Berrington Davies Suite

This suite was one of the final bedroom renovation projects to be completed and is named in honour of the last longest serving family, the Berrington Davies (1923 – 60’s). It features an awe-inspiring ensuite converted from the family nursery. On first view the bathroom usually gains a ‘wow’ reaction to the both its scale and opulence featuring both a freestanding nickel bath, freestanding shower temple, Victorian style throne high level toilet and luxury marble double basin sink. The bedroom is also fabulous with huge sash windows with working shutters and an enormous Mahogany sleigh bed and curtained crown (‘And so to Bed’ signature Brodsworth). You will literally sleep like Royalty in this magnificent room featuring antiques sourced from castles and stately homes adorned with fine art and photography by local artists.

The Millingchamp Suite

This room has been named and decorated to honour the Millingchamp family, 18th century explorers who brought back a touch of the exotic to Plas Llangoedmor. The wallpaper, colours and décor of this room, (paper and fabric by Matthew Williamson), was carefully selected as a close match to a sliver of original paper found behind a false wall. The room also has a deliberate touch of Art Deco in reference to the 1920s when the house was last used for serious entertaining. One party guest staying in this room permanently left her mark by scratching her name ‘Gwenda’ and the year 1927 in the window glass, (see if you can spot her signature!). This room features a beautiful original marble fireplace and bay window complete with original working shutters. The view from this room is superb, overlooking the water gardens and across to the Preseli Hills in the far distance. The Millingchamp Suite comes complete with a luxury Super King sized bed (‘And So To Bed’ signature Dickens).

The Vaughan Suite

A beautiful double aspect room filled with light all day. It features huge original sash windows and working shutters looking out to both the water gardens and front of the property down to Cardigan, (probably the best views from any of the rooms in the house). This classic Georgian styled room has been named and decorated to honour the Vaughan family who were connected to the house for over a century and pivotal in the 18th century modernisation of the property. The wallpaper is ‘Hummingbird’ by Cole & Son, a handmade block print wallpaper dating back to the 18th century in its original archived colourway. You will find the bird theme continues through the Victorian prints and even in the carved woodwork of the antique King Size tester four poster bed. The bed was a rare find being both original, but also large enough to accommodate a modern King sized luxury mattress. The colours and décor of this room are opulent golds and creams with a calming and restful ambiance
